I'm not fit enough to start working out!
Unfortunately, quite a lot of people seem to think they need to already be reasonably 'fit' or 'in shape' in order to BEGIN exercising or going to the gym.
I fully understand that starting a physical practice can be scary and outside your comfort zone. Worrying about doing the exercises wrong, looking stupid, being uncomfortable, and so on...
However, thinking that you need a certain level of fitness in order to start is like saying you're not clean enough to take a shower!
Being strong and healthy is not a prerequisite. It's the destination!
As a coach, I'm used to working with people with wide-ranging physical capabilities, and I can tell you this. We do not care about your starting point! Your commitment and your motivation are what's interesting.
And another secret!
- Nobody in the gym cares that you look foolish or that you read the instructions on the machine 5 times. And 95% of the people will be happy to help you out, if you ask.
On top of this, working with a trainer can be a great way to kickstart a new lifestyle with regular exercise. Giving yourself the greatest odds for success!
